About the IOTA Foundation

IOTA is a not-for-profit foundation incorporated and registered in Germany. The IOTA Foundation’s mission is to support the development and standardization of new distributed ledger technologies (DLT), specifically the IOTA Tangle. The IOTA Tangle is an innovative type of DLT specifically designed for the Internet of Things (IoT) environment. It is an open-source protocol facilitating novel Machine-to-Machine (M2M) interactions, including secure data transfer, fee-less real-time micropayments, and the collection and dissemination of sensor-based and other data.

The absolute go to website in terms of information about IOTA and the IOTA Foundation is their own website: www.iota.org . There we can find everything from how to get started, FAQs, the Foundation's vision, the list of all the employees, explanations of all verticals such as Mobility, IoT, eHealth, Supply Chains, Global Trade, Smart Energy, all the research papers to points of contact.

To stay up to date with everything we can follow their blog website where every new announcement gets posted.

There's also an official training ground for developers who would like to become Certified IOTA Developers.

IOTA Foundation also has in place the so called IOTA Ecosystem which was established with the sole goal to support the community with development of their own open source products built on top of IOTA.

One of the biggest projects currently in development by the Foundation is project Qubic. Qubic is a protocol that specifies IOTA's solution for oracle machines, smart contracts, outsourced computations, and more.

The Foundation has also built a Data Marketplace - a simplified platform which simulates how a connected device running the IOTA protocol can be paid rapidly for sharing secure data. Currently there's more than 70 organizations signed up.

They have also built a Supply Chain demo that shows the ability of revolutionizing the international trade.

IOTA also became a founding member of the new International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA) whose core directive is to promote the use of DLT technology by developing a predictable, transparent and trust-based global framework. INATBA offers developers and users of DLT a global forum to interact with regulators and policymakers and bring DLT and blockchain technology to the next stage.

If you would like to apply to work at the IOTA Foundation you're able to do so!
